Let’s Share Our Gratitude and Well Wishes to Principal Warner for Over 50 Years of Service!

Celebrate the Longest Serving Principal in America

Principal Wayne Warner, the principal of Chalmette High School since 1973, is the longest serving principal in the country!

We’re showing our appreciation for Mr. Warner’s service by sending notes expressing our gratitude for all that he's done serving our school and community these past five decades.

The Warner Way Documentary Film: Premiering September 29 at 7pm and 9pm on WLAE-TV

The Warner Way follows Mr. Warner’s impressive career at Chalmette High School, from librarian and social studies teacher in 1966, to principal in 1973. He has led the school through major historical events like the Civil Rights Movement, 9/11, and the internet age, guiding and mentoring several generations of Chalmette residents.

When 98% of St. Bernard Parish was underwater after Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Warner never left, and Chalmette High remained a refuge for residents. Under Mr. Warner’s leadership, Chalmette High rebuilt with better facilities than ever, and the school has remained a pillar of the St. Bernard community ever since.

“The man who was in charge of [rebuilding St. Bernard Parish schools], every day, was Wayne Warner,” says Doris Votier, Votier, St. Bernard School Superintendent.
